About Mrs. Beznoska:
Mrs. Beznoska was born in Twin Falls, ID and grew up in Glens Ferry, ID where she lived until her sophomore year in high school. She then moved to Jerome for the remainder of her high school years. While Maureen attended high school, she worked several jobs. One of them was a daycare where she helped with the after school program and taught preschool in the summer. This is when she realized her passion for working with young children. Mrs. Beznoska attended CSI for a year and then moved to Ketchum ID to earn money for college. Maureen enrolled at BSU where she was a member of the Council for Exceptional Children, earned a BA in Elementary Education and a Special Education Endorsement. She worked a number of part time jobs including Human Resource Director for Fred Meyer and still made the Deans List for six consecutive semesters.
Mrs. Beznoska also tutored special ed. students. She helped write and implement individual behavior management plans and worked closely with at risk students. This helped to prepare her for her first teaching position in Caldwell in a 6th and 7th grade extended resource classroom. Maureen worked with a variety of students who had disabilities ranging from Down syndrome, Autism, and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. She taught in Caldwell for three years and experienced many rewarding and heartfelt moments with her special ed. students. However, she wanted to work with younger children. Mrs. Beznoska earned her master’s degree in Reading/Literacy from BSU in May, 2014. Joyfully, Maureen joined the Rolling Hills Family six years ago after teaching at North Star Charter School for ten years. She feels teaching 1st grade is the most rewarding thing she has ever done. Mrs. Beznoska’s hobbies are camping, rafting, fishing, and hiking. She likes all kinds of music and loves attending live concerts. When she’s relaxing she likes to read, walk her dogs Henry and Ollie on the bike path, and bicycling with her husband Tom.
